Why am I such a cynical bitch.....
when i see innocent sentiment...it doesnt touch me as much as it makes me laugh
i spend my whole life trying to make it seem as if i dont care
and.....
I find it hard to say really nice things abt people
not because i dont think them
but i feel uncomfortable expressing that sort of emotion
whereas putting down someone...is a lot easier
I dont do it....cos...i make it a pt not to chime out judgement
but its so easy
on the other hand....more interestingly...
i think that there are massive riots going on in france
i dont really know the details...as i havent picked up a newspaper that wasnt the sun or the daily mail in weeks
but yah....riots in peaceful little france
these people must be so marginalised if they choose violence
and i can see that
when i was there in the summer...there were parts of town that were so racially polarised...magreb in one tiny corner...catholic white pple in another
whose fault is any of this i don tknow
each would blame each other for not integrating..or sapping up welfare to buy drugs
which ever side you look at it..there is a valid point
the immigrants werent probably helped enough to guarantee success
this doesnt mean that they were actively discriminated against
but more....not helped enough..to make sure that they didnt take the easy way out
living in the estates rife with crime, and relatively poor housing conditions
while the richer people at least had houses where they werent scared to live in
and its not going to be easy as an immigrant
many things are stacked against you...
basically, this is such a polarized country....
possibly the riots in france have implications for all other countries with such a massive immigrant population.
I doubt this is going to be a real problem in singapore, as immigration is tightly controlled
but yah..we need to take care of our immigrants...
not make them feel unwelcome
they build more of the nation that you or me can ever do
i for one...cant lift bricks
what else is happening in the world.....
lets see ...one more outbreak of bird flu in china
i remember..it was a while ago...where i...along with many people thought that the diseases of the future had to be lifestyle diseases...not infectious ones
but its so different now
we've seen the emergence of SARS, bird flu....so many other things....
all clear zoonotic diseases
to put in simply..if you mess up your environment, it will come back to you
i just hope that the greater nation of China, doesnt allow half of its citizens to be infected before it reports it to the rest of the world
stock up on your antivirals:-)
dont understand why everyone getting a flu vaccine...its not going to protect
god...this is the field for me....
