My grandmother told me recently
that one person cant do anything for the world
and that i shouldnt bother

I had this lecture on protozoan infections
and it ended with how we arent developing enough drugs for these diseases cos the market( western world) doesnt get it
so there is no financial reason to develop drugs
made me blood boil
when he said two things....one thing was...
that many human parasitic drugs that have revoluntionised the field
have come from vetinary medicine
cos these problems affect first world dogs and cats
and he said that a vital anti sleeping sickness drug
was saved from never being produced
cos it had a side effect of removing female facial hair

we need to do more for the world we live on
you cant live mindlessly with no thought of other pple and what they go through
cos it is my problem, its your problem,
what every one does...
the main thing is to never settle
dont sit down in an armchair and be cynical...saying things like..what ever i do it doesnt matter...and then laugh....
idealism is not something to be lampooned
at least they believe in something
